On the 29th of May, 6th, 5th and 4th class boys competed in the West Muskerry Football Blitz. It was held in Kilnamartyra. Ballyvourney, Ballingeary, Kilnamartyra and Rusheen played in the blitz. In the first game it was Rusheen V Ballyvourney. We won that game and had a good chance of getting to the final if we won our next game against Ballingeary. We also won our second game and if we won against Kilnamartyra, we would definitely be in the final. Unfortunately, we lost against Kilnamartyra so there was a three-way play off. Lucky for us we were pulled out of a hat so we would not have to play in a play off. Ballyvourney won so they played Kilnamartyra and Kilnamartyra won which meant we were playing Kilnamartyra in the final. We drew against Kilnamartyra and we also drew in extra time, so both teams were declared joint winners.
