TREE WEEK

General NewsComments Off on TREE WEEK

On the 3rd of April 2019, we planted trees.  We planted nine cotoneaster trees in a row.  We planted them to give shelter to the birds because they are an evergreen tree and they also have red berries to feed the birds.  They have white flowers in the summer for the bees.  Each class planted two trees.  First we dug nine holes and put compost in the hole.  Then we put in the tree and covered it with more compost and fertilizer.  We watered them and put stakes next to the trees to support them and tied them together with a tree tie.  Finally, we put a rabbit protector around the bottom of the tree so the rabbits would not eat the bark.
