STUDENT’S COUNCIL

General NewsComments Off on STUDENT’S COUNCIL

Last month, the students and staff of Rusheen N.S. decided to form a Student’s Council.  Four people from 3rd Class up were elected.  We all made speeches to show why we should be a part of the Student’s Council.  Then the pupils voted and these were the students voted onto the council:-

6th Class – Tom Buckley (President)

5th Class – Luke Ring

4th Class – Darragh O’Shea

3rd Class – Saoirse Leahy

We have already held a few meetings.  These are the things we want to do to improve Rusheen N.S.

  • Painting
  • Soccer Goals
  • Bother Box
  • Greenhouse

We brought our ideas to the Principal who discussed them with the Board of Management and The Staff.  They all agreed.

Painting:

We want to paint the bridge because when you look around the garden you see loads of vibrant colours and then you look at just a grey cement bridge.  The name of the paint we have decided on is “Jewelled Creek”.

Goals:

Over the past few months, many people have noticed that the goals have taken a hammering and if you kick the ball and it hits the crossbar it will collapse and fall down.

Bother Box:

We all get along very well here in Rusheen N.S., but just in case, the Student’s Council would like to implement a “Bother Box”.  You could put a personal bother or one with the school that the Student’s Council could fix.  In case you didn’t want a member of the council seeing it, you could put it in an envelope ad write “teacher” on it and we wouldn’t look at it.

Greenhouse:

Most of the time, 6th Class plant fruit or vegetables and are gone on holidays and never get to taste their fruit or veg after all their hard work planting them.  A green house would speed up the growing procedure.
