On the 10th of May 2017, Sarah Cuddihy and Clodagh O’Riordan, members of the Green School Committee,  Mr. Twomey and Yvonne O’Riordan went to the Raddison Blu Hotel in Little Island, Cork to receive our Green Flag for Energy.

We registered first and then got badges, bags and pencil cases.  There was also dress up wigs and glasses, etc. to put on for pictures with various props.

At the speeches we were told there were 61 schools there.  There was a slide show with photos of each school including us.  We were told that the amount of energy saved by schools getting the energy green flag was enough to power a T.V. for 1,000 years!

After the speeches, they called up each school to get their green flag and for a photo.  When every school had received their flag, we went to the restaurant for lunch.  The pupils got rice, pasta, chicken curry and garlic bread.  The adults got potatoes, turkey and gravy.  For dessert the pupils got jelly and ice-cream and the adults got mini cakes.  After lunch and a very enjoyable day we went home.
