On Thursday, the 29th of May, the Rusheen Book Fair began.
It was held in Mr. Coakley’s room and there were three book stalls, one for the youngest group of children, one for the older group of children and one for the oldest group of children.
There were also some bargain books that were 3 for €5.00. There was a stationary stall which sold pencils, rubbers and much more. There was a variety of posters to buy as well.
Everyone bought lots of books and posters and stationary. It was really fun and gave the children a chance to read more books. Everybody got to dress up as their favourite book character and we even got a catwalk!
We wrote a book too! All pupils in the school got to write a story or poem and put it in the book which we named “We are Writers”. We sold over 70 copies!
After all the buying and selling we raised €1,900.00. We were delighted that we raised so much money. We also got 60% of the profits to spend on books for the school.
It was a really fun day and everyone really enjoyed it.
