Sr. Joan Corkery, Congregational Leader of the Medical Missionaries of Mary, visited Rusheen School recently. The pupils of 5th and 6th Class had organised a fundraising Skipathon during Lent to raise funds for those less well off than themselves. They raised the massive amount of €770.00 and had decided to give it to Sr. Joan for her Missionary Work throughout the world.
Sr. Joan showed the pupils a slide show of the work that she and her fellow sisters do throughout the world to alleviate poverty. She was delighted to receive the sum of €770.00 and informed the pupils that she will be allocating this money to the Sisters in Nangwa Tanzania for a Water Project there.
