Rusheen N.S. opened its doors 125 years ago on April 6th, 1885.   This historic event and the official opening of its new extension will be celebrated on Friday, June 25th at 11.00 a.m.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O’Keeffe T.D. will attend and perform the official opening.  Fr. Corkery P.P. of Aghinagh will bless the school. Entertainment by school pupils will follow and light refreshments will also be served.  The Board of Management and Parents’ Association of the school would like to invite all that are connected with the school in any way to this historic occasion.

At 7.30p.m. that evening a tree planting ceremony will take place followed by light refreshments.  A display of historical data, memorabilia, photos, etc. will be on view in the school.  This will be an opportunity for all to renew old friendships and reminisce over a cup of tea.

The Board of Management and Parents’ Association again invites parents, past pupils and the wider community to join us in celebrating this milestone in the history of Rusheen N.S.
