Rusheen N.S. were delighted recently to welcome a delegation from Nutricia Danone to our school. The visiting group was Michael O’Herlihy, Donal Dennehy, Andrew Hayes, Sara Jane Blythe, Pongsatorn Vilaipan and Alan O’Shea. They came to look at our award winning garden and to examine how we operate our green schools program. We went on a tour of our garden and all the 5th & 6th class pupils spoke about the different aspects such as the trees, fairy village, wild flour garden, Irish signage, outdoor classroom, wall mural, composting, etc. They were very impressed. They set us a challenge to examine the relationship between climate change and Irish agriculture. We took up the challenge and will present the results of our findings to Nutricia Danone sometime next term. We are looking forward to going there.
