Rusheen N.S. had the great honour of being the inaugural winners of the Muintir na Tìre Pride of the Community Schools Garden Competition. This competition was open to all schools in Cork County. 27 schools attended a prize giving ceremony in the County Hall. Rusheen School won an award for having the best mixed garden and received a cheque for €250.00. They received another €250.00 and a plaque when their school was voted the best overall garden in the competition. Great thanks is due to everybody who helped to bring about this success and especially to parent, Cait Sheehan, who was the inspiration behind the project.
