Aghinagh Juniors won the Mid-Cork Junior Football Title for the first time on Tuesday night. We had flags and bunting up in the school to support the team. The game was very exciting and Aghinagh beat Ballincollig in the final 1-12 to 0-9.
Everybody was delighted and the cup came to the school the following day. We did a Guard of Honour for the team. A lot of the players came and the captain, Matthew McCarthy, and Principal, Mr. Coakley, made speeches. We got sweets from the cup and an extra long break. We sang “The Bold Thady Quill” and best of all we got homework off.
