This year the Green Schools Committee are going for the green flag for the theme of Water.  We already have two flags, one for Litter and Waste and another for Energy.  We are in year two for the Water flag and this year we have plenty of plans to conserve water.  We have three new members on our Committee this year, Ben Hinchion, Lucey Hinchion and Jamie Kearney, they have joined Jack White, Lily O’Shea, Mr. Coakley, Mr. Twomey and Jessie Murphy.

One of our plans is that we will tell everyone about our mission and to be careful about using water.  We have people called Switch Off Sheriffs who switch off lights (to conserve energy) and taps (to conserve water).  Every week we change the Switch Off Sheriffs to ensure everyone does the job.

This year we installed a water meter in our water supply to measure the amount of water we use.  Then we put one litre bottles into the cisterns to hopefully save more water.  Stay Green!
