Today the 15/6/2021 we had two very exciting matches, they were the last matches before the highly awaited semi-finals. Although we weren’t expecting to have these matches today as we were hoping for the school sports day but sadly the sports were cancelled due to weather. We started off with Belgium vs. Croatia. It was an extremely competitive match with a bundle of surprises along the way. Everybody thought that Belgium were the clear winners at half time as Evan ‘O Riordan scored two goals for Belgium. All the players on team Croatia were gloomy and thinking negatively but they hoped they would make a comeback in the second half like they surprisingly did in the last match. Cheers were coming from some indecisive viewers who couldn’t decide who they were going for but they seemed to support Croatia (sometimes Belgium). In the end, Croatia made a fierce comeback in the second half and James Twomey scored an additional two goals making it equal with Belgium, the final score was 3-3. The next match was Italy vs. France. Italy was the favourite among the majority of viewers. The first goal was scored by Lenny for Italy. The game became more and more one sided as Italy kept scoring by the end of the first half it was 3-1 to Italy. During half time a surprise came along- Mr Cool the ice-cream van! All the students looked at it in awe but the game had to go on. Yet again another great comeback was made by France and the score became 3-3 (must be the ice cream making them score all those goals!). The game ended up 4-3 to Italy, a sad loss for France but nothing a bit of ice cream can’t fix!
