Rusheen National School had a great day out at the Cork Primary School Sports held in the C.I.T. complex for the first time in years. The boys were on first in the morning and Seàn Cummins and John Kelleher came first in the Under 8 and Under 7 sprints respectively. The girls were on in the afternoon and Katelyn Kelleher and Lucy Hinchion came 2nd in the Under 12 and Under 7 sprints respectively, while Gràinne Twomey and Rebecca Morgans came 3rd in the under 12 and under 8 sprints respectively. Then the girls relay team consisting of Katelyn Kelleher, Gràinne Twomey, Caoimhe Looney and Èireann O’Shea ran a fine race to come second.
