The Annual Christmas Market took place on Sun 1st Dec and again it was a very successful event.
A large crowd gathered on a sunny morning in a stunningly decorated Aghinagh Gaa Hall to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a cuppa and some home baking. Mike Twomey’s sausage rolls went down a treat.
The many stalls were abundant. There was once again a great response to a request for home baking with a huge array of delicious creations.
Ticket sales went well for the General Raffle, the Hamper raffle which offered three Luxury Hamper prizes. The hotel voucher was from O’Donoghue/Ring hotel voucher to the value of €200 and an afternoon tea for 2 in the Woodlands hotel, Adare as a consolation prize.
The gift/voucher shop was overflowing with fantastic donations. There was something for everyone.
Our children had made some fantastic crafts which were available to buy.
There was plenty to entertain the children with the bottle stall, hot chocolate & cookies, a children’s book stall, guess the name of the soft toy, No. of sweets in the jar, hair braiding , colouring corner and their very own raffle.
Christmas Wreaths and Christmas trees were for sale along with turf, timber and coal.
The auction had some fantastic items on offer and the bidding was competitive and great fun. A large Santa figurine in particular was hotly contested.
We also ran a children’s colouring competition and all the masterpieces were displayed on the day, showcasing our children’s incredible talent.
Local businesses were again outstanding in their support of this event with many gift vouchers and items for sale/auction donated. We hope that parents can return the goodwill and support these local businesses.
A huge thank you to all of you who helped out in any capacity by volunteering to help or making a donation, it is greatly appreciated.
