Aghinagh played the U12 final against Cill na Martra on Wednesday the 30th of September. The game was played in Aghinagh GAA pitch. Eight of our present pupils and two past pupils of Rusheen NS were on the team. Even that we started the first half strong and determined and scored three good points, Cill na Martra scored two goals and left us three points down at the end of the first half. At half time we felt frustrated and disappointed with ourselves. Dave Barry our trainer gave us a good talking to and said “work as a team, put your heads together, dig deep and you can do this”. We started the second half with a positive vibe and both teams scored goals and points until we ended up level with a few minutes to go. We got three points and Cill na Martra had one more attack that we blocked it down and carried the ball down the pitch and got our final goal before the final whistle blew. We beat Cill na Martra by six points and everyone was over joyed.
