The Rusheen N.S. Parents Association held their annual Garden Fete at Leades House on Sunday 13th June, with thanks to Colin and Sally Wolfe for the use of the grounds. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the school and we are delighted it was a great success.
It is always a most enjoyable family day out for the whole family. There was something for everyone. For the children all the usual attractions were there, bouncy castle, face painting, races, penalty shootout and target ball. For the adults there were the beautiful grounds to stroll around and after one could relax in the coffee shop. For entertainment there was music, dance and storytelling. A beautiful selection of flowering plants was on sale on the day for all gardening enthusiasts. Dermot Chapman held an audience (both young and old) with his wood turning demonstration. A ‘Weekend Away’ and a ‘Shetland Pony’ were among some of the prizes won in the raffle. The Cake Sale, Tuck shop and BBQ also went down well as nobody went away hungry. The weather was kind to us once again this year and a great day was had by all.
