Book Fair
Our annual book fair was held last Friday, and a great day was had by all. Pupils were encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character and there were some fantastic costumes on display at the parade from princesses to gangster grannies. The staff also got into costume fulfilling the theme of Snow White and the Seven dwarfs excellently with student teacher Ms. Maher taking on the role of Snow White.
Throughout the week all pupils had been looking at lovely scholastic books in their classrooms and then on Friday they had the chance to purchase some of these lovely books at our book fair which was held in the 5th and 6th class classroom. Parents were welcome to attend and browse through the selection on display. Teachers and staff assisted with their classes on the day as well as helping out at the cash desks. This fair is a great way of raising money for new books for our school. We are delighted to announce that over €1740 was raised on the day and we will receive 60% worth of this amount in new books for our classroom libraries. We would like to thank everyone who supported this brilliant initiative. The pupils have also completed their ‘We Are Writers ‘’ book which will be published by Scholastic in the coming weeks. We will have more information for everyone in due course about when our lovely book can be purchased.
