CONFIRMATION IN RUSHEEN

General NewsComments Off on CONFIRMATION IN RUSHEEN

History was made on Saturday, July 25th when 5th and 6th class pupils from Rusheen N.S. were confirmed in St. John The Baptist Church Rusheen for the first time ever. This came about due to the cancellation of the Parish Confirmation Ceremony on March 19th due to Covid 19.

6th Class were confirmed at 10.00 a.m. and the 5th class ceremony took place at 12.00 noon.  The pupils read the Readings, Prayers of the Faithful, Reflections and brought Art Work to the Altar.  Fr. Joseph O’Mahony confirmed the pupils in a prayerful and spiritual ceremony.  Canon Roberts was also in attendance and read a letter from Bishop Crean to the congregation.

The ceremony was greatly enhanced by the lovely music and singing provided by past pupils Michelle O’Callaghan, Ava Kelleher and Sarah Twomey.

School Staff, Sacristans, Church Maintenance Committee, Musicians, Pupils and all who contributed in any way to the ceremony were thanked sincerely by Fr. Joe.

Thanks to Peter Scanlan, Photographer, who provided us with these lovely photographs for our website.
