On the 2nd of December, 2019 the West Midland Theatre Group came to Rusheen N.S. to perform “Aladdin” in the local hall.  Their show was enjoyable and funny and everyone took part.  The main characters were:  Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Ebanezar and the genie of the lamp.

The plot was that Ebanezar wanted to be the most powerful man in the world.  To do that Ebanezar needs to find a magic lamp that will summon a magic genie who will give you three wishes.  So Ebanezar gets Aladdin to fetch the lamp from a dark, dark cave.  Ebanezar promised Aladdin that he would receive all the riches that are down there.  Aladdin finds the lamp, rubs it, then a genie appeares and Aladdin wishes he was out of the cave.  So the genie brought Aladdin out of the cave.

Before all this, Aladdin and Aladdin’s mother were working in their washing business when Princess Jasmine came to collect the emperor’s washing.  Aladdin falls in love with the princess.  Later Aladdin wishes that Ebanezar was nice.  Then Aladdin and Princess Jasmine get married and live together happily ever after.

Whether it was the dog fight between Ebanezor’s parrot and Princess Jasmine’s monkey or the amazing dance scene at the end, absolutely everyone at Rusheen N.S. enjoyed the show and found it excellent.
