Recently in a social distance ceremony the nine pupils of Rang VI, Michael Twomey, Lucy Hinchion, Pierce Lynch, Darragh O’Shea, James Cuddihy, Michael Buckley, John Kelleher, Seán Cummins and Gary Sheehan, graduated from Rusheen N.S. The Ceremony was held in the school yard and the pupils’ families and school staff attended. All were welcomed by Fr. Joseph O’Mahony, Chairman of the Board of Management, who initiated proceedings with a “Leavers Prayer”. In his address Rang VI were paid the highest compliments by Principal, Gerard Coakley. Pupil, James Cuddihy, read a lovely poem he wrote entitled “My Years in Rusheen”. Rang a Sé were presented with a graduation certificate and a memory stick containing a slideshow commemorating their time in Rusheen National School. They also received a Class of 2020 hoodie. The parents presented a Bird Table and a Wind Chime to the school as a token of their appreciation. Photos were taken, the slideshow was viewed and tea was served. Closure was finally brought to an unusual year for the wonderful class of 2020.
