Santa Goes to the Caribbean

On the 20th of December we had our Christmas play, “Santa Goes to the Caribbean” in the Aghinagh G.A.A. hall.  It all started at 7.00 p.m.  The play began in Griselda’s Academy for  young witches and wizards.  Griselda’s cast a spell on Santa and sent him to the Caribbean.  On his way to the Caribbean, Santa and Rudolph stopped in Rusheen to see the Christmas shows by the pupils of Rusheen N.S.  The Junior & Senior Infants performed “The Nativity” for Santa and Rudolph.  1st & 2nd Class performed “Cinderella” and finally 3rd & 4th Class performed “The Wolves in the Woods in Rusheen”.  Santa & Rudolph really enjoyed the shows.

In the Caribbean Santa met all the dudes in Jamaica.  They greeted Santa and Rudolph with the song “Buffalo Soldier”.  Suddenly one of the witches, Marigold, appeared.  She was plotting to save Christmas unlike Griselda who hated Christmas.  Griselda and her band of evil witches and wizards came to the Caribbean and Marigold disappeared.  All of the dudes and Santa and Rudolph sang “We wish you a Merry Christmas” to make the witches and wizards faint.  When Griselda woke up the spell was broken.  She loved Christmas.  Suddenly, Marigold appeared but she wasn’t a witch, she was a fairy.  With the help of Marigold’s magic, Santa and Rudolph travelled the world on Christmas night.  At the end of the show, the whole school sang a medley of Christmas Songs.  Everyone enjoyed the show.
