Third to Sixth Class went on a local history and geography tour around our locality recently.  We learned about the building of Rusheen Church and all about Kilberrihert House.  Then we visited the home of Ned Neville a local Irish Volunteer who fought for Irish freedom against the Black ‘n Tans.  Then we climbed Coopers Rock (330 metres high) and had a picnic there and enjoyed the lovely views of the Parish of Aghinagh.  Then we headed for the famine monuments at Ardoyne Cross and had ice-cream there.  After that we walked to the Clashavoon Station and then onto the site of St. Berrihert’s Church and Children’s Graveyard.  We had a very interesting trip.
