The Sacrament of First Holy Communion was celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church, Rusheen on Saturday, May 14th.

Twelve pupils from Rusheen National School received the Sacrament, Katelyn Kelleher, Moira Twomey, Cathal O’Riordan, Tadhg Sheehan, Seán O’Riordan, Oisín O’Neill, Peter Murphy, Séamus Murphy, Gearóid O’Brien, Gráinne Twomey, Caoimhe Looney and Lydia Collins.  Adam Kelly received a special blessing on the day.  The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Corkery P.P. and each of the children played a special part in the mass, in the readings, responses, prayers of the faithful and presentation of the gifts.

Congratulations and well done to teachers and parents who helped make this such a special occasion for all and to everyone who prepared the Church and had it looking so lovely on the day. Thanks also to the Parents Association who provided the large crowd with refreshments afterwards.
