BOB THE OWL

It all began with a very generous donation of a beautifully carved owl to the school.  The owl has books under it and is made out of wood.  It is carved very nicely.  We all loved the owl, but there was something missing.  It did not have a name.  The teachers decided to have a vote.  Each class pod got to choose a name.  It was narrowed down to 16 names.  The teachers said they would reveal the owl’s name after the summer holidays.

After the summer holidays everybody was happy to be back to school, but what the pupils were really happy about was the owl’s name!  The votes were counted, the moment everybody had been waiting for, and the winning name was Bob!

Then Jim Twomey kindly built a circular wall around the owl.  We filled it with earth and compost from our bin.  We planted heathers and then Jessie arranged the painted stones, which 6th class presented to the school last year before they left, around Bob the Owl.
